Bio

Li Sibo, a young Chinese pianist currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance at the Manhattan School of Music, has gained international recognition for his artistry. He studied under Dr. Zhe Li, former Chair of the Piano Department at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music; Marc Silverman, former Chair of the Piano Department at the Manhattan School of Music; and André-Michel Schub, Gold Medalist of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.

Li’s performances have garnered high praise from renowned musicians, who have described his artistry as “brilliant and captivating,” “structurally exquisite, technically masterful, and dynamically engaging,” and “precisely and charmingly conveying the distinct styles of works from various periods.” These accolades come from eminent figures such as celebrated pianists Jerome Lowenthal, Gary Graffman, Ignat Solzhenitsyn, Piotr Paleczny, Andrzej Jasiński, Klaus Baessler, Andrei Borisovich Diev, Sharon Mann, Maxim Mogilevsky, Ewa Poblocka, Wojciech Świtala, and Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Chair of the Piano Department at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Additional endorsements include professors from the Manhattan School of Music, including William Wolfram, Wael Farouk, Jeffrey Cohen, Daniel Epstein, Alexandre Moutouzkine (current Chair of the Piano Department), Deirdre O’Donohue, Jiayin Li, Lisa Yui, Peter Vinograde, Inesa Sinkevych, Joanne Polk, and others. Esteemed musicians such as Solomon Mikowsky, violinists Laurie Carney, Lucie Robert, Isaac Malkin, Curtis Macomber, Nicholas Mann (Chair of the Strings Department at the Manhattan School of Music), Peter Winograd, cellist Wolfram Koessel, and Van Cliburn International Piano Competition juror Han Wu have also recognized his exceptional talent.

Li Sibo has achieved remarkable success in numerous prestigious piano competitions, including the Bronze Medal at the 2nd Little Golden Bell International Piano Competition, the Championship at the 19th Hong Kong-Asia Piano Competition, the Championship at the Marconi European International Piano Competition in Italy, dual championships in the solo and concerto categories of the "Luyi Cup" Piano Competition, and the Second Prize at the New York International Piano Competition.His musical journey has taken him across the globe, performing at major events such as the New York International Music Exchange Conference and the New York Art Festival. He was invited to the Hunter International Festival as a chamber musician, collaborating with renowned violinist Peter Winograd to perform Brahms' Violin Sonatas. He also performed at national teaching seminars at Xi’an Conservatory of Music and Shanghai Conservatory of Music and served as a jury member for the International Chopin Piano Competition for Children.
